Unlike the first generation of free sperm-egg binding, the second generation of IVF requires microscopic manipulation, using a special fixator to hold the egg in place, and then using a needle to aspirate a spermatozoa, penetrate the permeable band on the outside of the egg cell and the oocyte membrane, and then inject the spermatozoa after the needle has been inserted into the egg's cytoplasm, the second generation of IVF is also known as the Intracytoplasmic Injection of Mono-Sperm Follicle (ICSI) technique.<\/div>\n
