Under normal circumstances, when sperm and egg meet, the sperm will penetrate the outer transparent layer of the egg and fertilize the egg. Does ICSI guarantee 100% fertilization?
Ans: ICSI is not able to guarantee 100% fertilization success. According to domestic and international studies, the average fertilization rate is about 60-70%.
Does ICSI affect the quality of the embryo or cause fetal abnormalities?
Ans: ICSI is an unnatural method of fertilization, but it is a stable and well-established artificial reproductive technology. There is no statistically significant increase in the rate of fetal anomalies, but amniocentesis is recommended in the 16th to 18th week of pregnancy in women who have undergone this technique.

Ans: The pregnancy rate of IVF infants fertilized by ICSI is comparable to that of IVF infants fertilized by natural in vitro fertilization (IVF).
