What is the difference between IVF in the US and IVF in Taiwan? How to choose?
With the change of social values, modern people are more and more inclined to marry later and have children later, focusing on career development and personal achievement. However, both men and women will gradually lose their fertility as they grow older, especially women who, due to physiological constraints, are considered to be senior mothers at the age of 35 or above, and the quality and quantity of their eggs will decline significantly. In this dilemma, many people choose to use IVF technology to fulfill their wish of becoming parents.
In this article, we will introduce the process of IVF in the U.S. and the differences between Taiwan and U.S. IVF programs. Let's continue to learn more about it!
What is IVF?
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is an assisted reproduction technique that involves in vitro fertilization of a woman's egg with a man's sperm in a laboratory to form an embryo that is then implanted in the woman's uterus in order for the embryo to develop into a healthy baby.
How is IVF in the U.S. different from Taiwan?
Due to legal restrictions in Taiwan, only legally married heterosexual couples can undergo IVF, which is a difficult path for singles and the LGBTQ community. In the U.S., however, the regulations are relatively open, and even singles can realize their fertility dreams through IVF technology.
In reality, however, there is not much difference between the United States and Taiwan in terms of the process of IVF treatment. According to the Taiwan Society of Reproductive Medicine
Taiwan ranks second in the world, after the United States, in the rate of successful in vitro fertilization (pregnancy rate)!
