When you have too many embryos (from well responding ovaries, lots of eggs and high fertilization rates), implanting them all at once certainly results in a higher pregnancy rate, but the chances of multiple births are much higher. However, pregnancies with triplets or more often result in complications such as underweight, premature labor, gestational diabetes, gestational hypertension, etc. and should be avoided at all costs. Therefore, if there are too many embryos, it is not advisable to implant all of them at once, but to keep some of them frozen for use in future pregnancies. However, only good quality embryos are suitable for freezing; poor quality embryos should be discarded if they are not to be implanted fresh.
